University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is delighted to report a significant increase in the overall student satisfaction rate in the National Student Survey (NSS). UCEM received an overall satisfaction rate of 81% in this year’s survey, up from 76% in 2017.
The results from the 2018 National Student Survey, published today, also place UCEM above the institution’s benchmark of 80%. Benchmarks reflect the sector average satisfaction levels but are adjusted to reflect the mix of students and subjects at the provider institution.
UCEM scored particularly highly in several areas, including the intellectual stimulation of its courses, and the opportunities provided to explore ideas or concepts in depth and to bring information and topics together from different topics. Students also reported high levels of satisfaction with UCEM’s provision of IT resources and facilities to support learning and the opportunities provided to apply their learning.
Ashley Wheaton, UCEM Principal, commented, “We are delighted to have significantly increased our overall satisfaction rate in the 2018 NSS, at a time when overall satisfaction rates across Higher Education in the UK fell. These results are a testament to the hard work of our staff, the dedication of our students and our ongoing focus on the delivery of an excellent student experience. Our vocational leadership and programmes, offered from Levels 3 to 7, provide much needed skills and qualifications to Built Environment professionals, supporting the future needs of employers in industry.”
Lynne Downey, Vice Principal, Online Education, added, “UCEM is proud to lead in online education and we continue to develop our learning platform and offer, which is already highly rated by our students, through feedback from such surveys as NSS.”
