UCEM’s Construction Management and Quantity Surveying programmes accredited by ICES
Posted on: 8 May, 2018
The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES) has agreed to accredit three of UCEM’s degree programmes with immediate effect.
UCEM’s BSc (Hons) Construction Management, BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and MSc Quantity Surveying programmes are now accredited by ICES for an initial period of five years until 31 March 2023.
The accreditation means students on the three programmes will get free student membership of ICES and a free upgrade to Graduate Member upon completion of their programme.
ICES is an internationally renowned centre of excellence in civil engineering surveying and the accreditation is further recognition of UCEM’s academic credentials in supporting surveyors across the world.
UCEM’s Head of its Construction Faculty, Tim Bennett, commented: “The three programmes are already accredited by RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), CIOB (The Chartered Institute of Building), CABE (Chartered Association of Building Engineers) and HKICM (Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers). This new ICES accreditation complements the arrangements we have with these other institutions and adds a further layer of professional credibility and international recognition to the high-quality programmes we run in the Faculty.
“We endeavour to remain engaged with industry to ensure our programmes are suitable for those wishing to enhance their careers within construction, and the accreditations we have with these professional bodies endorses our work in this area.”
ICES Membership Manager, Serena Ronan, said: “I would like to thank UCEM for its co-operation with our accreditation process. I look forward to a continued fruitful relationship between ICES and UCEM.”
