UCEM strengthens its Hong Kong Team with key appointment

UCEM’s activity in Hong Kong and the wider Asia-Pacific Region has been boosted by the appointment of Tim Bennett.
Tim – who joined the institution as Head of its Construction Faculty in 2014 and has been Dean – School of the Built Environment since 2018 – will lead UCEM’s APAC (Asia-Pacific) Office which is based in Hong Kong.

In his three-pronged role as Dean – School of the Built Environment (International), Head of APAC Office and Director of UCEM Asia Ltd, Tim will drive UCEM’s strategy in the region in growing the numbers of Built Environment professionals and supporting the institution’s Hong Kong students.
Since joining UCEM in 2014, Tim has led CPD events in Hong Kong, Singapore and Macau, building relationships with key stakeholders across the region.
Tim commented: “I’m delighted to be leading on UCEM’s strategy in the Asia-Pacific Region. This is an exciting opportunity to develop the existing relationship I have with employers, professional bodies and fellow education providers in the region to support UCEM’s vision to be the Centre of Excellence for Built Environment education and collaborate effectively to enhance the sector in general.
“Outside of the UK, the highest number of UCEM students in one place is in Hong Kong and I look forward to meeting more of our students there and doing my very best to support them to succeed in their studies. I have always enjoyed my visits to the region and will be heading over to Hong Kong more frequently to support the office and implement my strategy for Asia-Pacific.”
Tim’s appointment is the latest milestone in UCEM’s 40-year association with Hong Kong. A Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Tim has extensive experience in surveying practice, is a Fellow of the RICS and CABE and holds a Master’s in Professional Education and Training and a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying.
