UCEM receives highest outcome in QAA annual monitoring report

UCEM received the highest outcome – ‘making commendable progress’ – from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education’s (QAA) annual monitoring report.

QAA visited UCEM for monitoring purposes on 20 September and the positive report was published yesterday.

Among the conclusions arrived at by QAA, the report stated: ‘UCEM has further developed and embedded good practices which make particularly positive contributions to the quality of student learning opportunities’.

UCEM Principal, Ashley Wheaton, said: “The report is recognition of all the excellent work that is going on at UCEM as part of continuing to both uphold the quality of our provision and continually seeking to enhance what we do. As part of our commitment to academic excellence, this is a very important step.”

The annual quality monitoring report by QAA, which UCEM is required to undertake as an alternative provider which provides specifically designated courses, saw members of UCEM’s staff and student community meet with QAA assessors during the monitoring event.

UCEM is subject to review by the QAA under the Department for Business, Innovation and Skill’s requirements for courses designated for student loan purposes. See www.qaa.ac.uk for more information.
