UCEM co-hosts international conference and signs partnership agreement with Batangas State University, Philippines

On November 22 – 24, UCEM co-hosted the sixth International Research Conference on Innovations in Engineering, Science and Technology (IRCIEST) at Batangas State University – Philippines’ national engineering university.
UCEM was invited to co-host, and to sign a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) collaboration partnership, as a leading player in sustainable built environment research. The MoU will support academic collaboration in the pursuit of mutually beneficial activities over the coming years, including research projects, conferences and webinars.
As Dr Muhammad Rana, UCEM academic tutor and leading researcher, commented:
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding will enable us to strengthen and further our collaboration with Batangas State University to address the delivery of a sustainable built environment.”
IRCIEST is a biannual conference that brings together academics, researchers, students and industry professionals from the Philippines and around the world. This event is designed to be a collaborative platform for attendants to network and share their knowledge, findings and experiences in the fields of engineering, science and technology.
The overarching theme of this year’s conference was Propelling Transformations and Accelerating Reforms through Research Innovations. Specific focus was paid to artificial intelligence, food and agriculture and energy and environment, among many other fields, emerging technologies and approaches in the global landscape.

At the conference, Dr Muhammad Rana presented a plenary presentation to all conference delegates and spoke about redefining higher education, highlighting the UCEM’s online and sustainable approach to innovation.
