UCEM enters partnership with the Association of Higher Education Professionals

Posted on: 12 November, 2024

An Institutional Partnership with the Association of Higher Education Professionals (AHEP) is designed to enhance professional development and support for higher education institutions. Focussing on creating tailored, flexible collaborations that align with the unique needs and goals of each partner, these partnerships offer opportunities for staff to engage in professional development, access resources, and participate in AHEP’s events and conferences at discounted rates.

Following recent announcements about a partnership with the University of Manchester, AHEP are pleased to announce its newest Institutional Partnership with the University College of Estate Management (UCEM). By partnering, AHEP and UCEM are united in their commitment to professional innovation and excellence, with a focus on flexible, accessible learning that empowers professionals at every stage of their career.

Built for Life, Built for People, Built for the Future

University College of Estate Management (UCEM) is the leading provider of online education in the built environment. It offers a range of accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programs focused on real estate, construction surveying and sustainability, among many other areas.

UCEM’s programmes cater to the needs of both industry professionals and the built environment as a whole, emphasising the development of practical skills and knowledge and enabling students to enhance their careers and make a positive impact in their fields. Additionally, UCEM are a committed promoter of global understanding and collaboration through its diverse learning community.

Sustainability is a core focus of UCEM’s long-term strategy, and central to its vision to become the centre of excellence for sustainable built environment education. Earlier this year, a sustainability module was added to every one of UCEM’s BSc (Hons) programmes.

The UCEM values of putting people first and building for the future make them natural partners for AHEP, with its own goals ensuring that learning pathways are designed to fit individual goals while contributing to a better built environment for professional generations to come.

Key benefits for UCEM colleagues:

  • Reduced membership fees, providing easier access to AHEP’s wealth of resources and opportunities.
  • Collaborative networking with professionals from other institutions, fostering knowledge sharing and partnerships.
  • Professional growth opportunities, including the AHEP Professional Framework, exclusive webinars, and workshops tailored to the fast-changing landscape of higher education.
  • Professional recognition, with post-nominal letters and unique digital badges for members, boosting your professional profile and credentials.

“We’re looking forward to expanding our Institutional Partnership portfolio through our collaboration with UCEM. As a unique institution committed to excellence, innovation, integrity, and inclusivity in the built environment, we look forward to furthering the reach of our mission across the HE landscape. Our partnership aims to empower their professional services teams, enabling them to enhance their contributions and positively impact the institution’s activities while building on an already strong history of employee engagement.”

– AHEP Representative

“We are thrilled to be establishing an institutional partnership with AHEP, which marks an important step forward for our institution. This collaboration provides significant opportunities for our professional services staff to benefit from AHEP resources and events, share expertise, and develop new skills. By working together, we aim to foster a culture of innovation and excellence that benefits our entire university community.”

This Institutional Partnership is designed to be flexible and tailored to align with UCEM’s unique needs and goals. Over the next three years, AHEP and UCEM will conduct regular reviews to ensure the collaboration remains dynamic and consistently delivers optimal value for its members. As part of this partnership, UCEM staff will also be invited to attend AHEP’s annual conference at a reduced or complimentary rate, further enhancing the value and opportunities for growth, connection, and development.
