Recognise outstanding UCEM staff through the Teaching Excellence Awards 2020!
Posted on: 21 April, 2020
Has one of our team made your learning experience that bit more enjoyable? Have you noticed a colleague who has gone above and beyond in supporting our students?
If someone or some members of staff spring to mind to one of the questions above, then now is your chance to recognise them!
Nominations are open to UCEM students and staff to highlight individuals’ outstanding contributions through the Teaching Excellence Awards (TEAs) 2020.
As with last year’s awards, there are five categories available to vote in: Innovation in Teaching and Learning; Recognition of Excellence; Outstanding Contribution to Feedback; Outstanding Contribution to Academic Support; and Outstanding Contribution to Pastoral Support.
The initiative is being led by our Academic Programme Support Tutor, Sarah Brennan, who has coordinated the awards since their inception in 2018. Sarah commented: “The TEAs are a highlight at UCEM every year. To see the reactions of our staff to their nominations is so lovely to see, and the awards offer an opportunity to pause and congratulate our colleagues on the great work they are doing.
“It’s obviously a bit different this year with them being launched in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic but, hopefully, this will offer an opportunity to reflect on something positive and, perhaps, there is a member of staff who has excelled in providing the support required at this testing time who you would like to thank.
“I look forward to receiving the nominations and then having to select the winners and runners-up in each category, alongside the other members of the TEAs panel.”
Nominations close on Thursday, 28 May, 2020, with the winners to be announced on Wednesday, 10 June, 2020. To vote, please log in to the VLE and follow the link from the banner at the top of the homepage to run through the details and submit your nomination.
