Grants available for CITB levy-paying employers to put staff onto UCEM’s construction programmes
Posted on: 11 May, 2018
Employers paying into the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) levy are now able to access grants to help fund employees enrolling onto UCEM’s construction degree programmes.
The development is immediately effective ahead of the Autumn 2018 intake period with UCEM’s undergraduate and postgraduate Building Surveying, Construction Management and Quantity Surveying programmes eligible under the scheme.
CITB levy-paying employers can access £1,125 per year towards putting an employee onto one of the six eligible UCEM programmes, with an extra £1,875 made available upon successful completion of the programme.
This means that employers can access up to £4,125 against a total MSc programme fee of £8,800 and up to £6,375 against the £18,700 BSc total programme fee.
Employers who also pay the government’s apprenticeship levy will continue to be able to use those funds to pay for apprenticeship training provided by UCEM.
UCEM’s Director of Commercial and Business Development, Stephen Bartle, commented: “I’m pleased that our construction degree programmes are eligible for these CITB grants and would urge any employer considering putting forward a candidate to study with us who falls into this category, to utilise this cost-saving grant when upskilling its staff.
“Using CITB levy funding in this way helps employers to increase their return on investment in levy contributions, while supporting their employees’ professional development.”
Further details on how the CITB’s levy funding can be used to support relevant training programmes can be found on the CITB website at www.citb.co.uk
