Celebrations all round at the official launch of University College of Estate Management
Posted on: 5 February, 2016
Well, what a fantastic evening for the Built Environment, Higher Education and UCEM. Last night we officially celebrated becoming University College of Estate Management – and looked forward to not only what 2016, and beyond, holds for the university college but for our BE industry and HE sector as well.
We were delighted to welcome so many of our staff, students, alumni, fellows, partners, and other leading Built Environment and Higher Education figures and esteemed guests to the 29th floor of the Millbank Tower for champagne, canapés, industry talks and jazz; overlooking one of the best views of the Thames.
We were especially honoured to be hosts to Professor Roger King and Dr Louise Brooke-Smith, our guest speakers. Louise set the scene for the future of business, and addressed the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the Built Environment today. Roger talked about the importance of quality education and how UCEM students really are at the heart of the system. Our Principal, Ashley Wheaton, looked back at UCEM’s illustrious history and forward to a promising future as University College of Estate Management.
See below for some of the photographic highlights – and look out for further updates from the night’s celebrations, including in-depth coverage of the highlights from Ashley, Roger and Louise.
