Activate Learning launches new online Access to HE diploma in Built Environments with guaranteed undergraduate progression

Posted on: 22 July, 2024

Activate Learning is excited to announce the launch of a new Access to HE Diploma (Built Environments): Online. This innovative programme provides a comprehensive pathway for learners aspiring to enter the built environment sector, with the added convenience of online learning.

The course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue higher education in a variety of professional fields within the built environment.

Guaranteed progression to UCEM undergraduate programmes

Activate Learning has collaborated with the University College of Estate Management (UCEM) to create a progression pathway. Students who achieve at least 24 of the 45 credits studied on the Access to HE Diploma at Merit or Distinction level will be guaranteed a place on a UCEM undergraduate programme.

This progression route provides a seamless transition for learners aiming to further their education and career prospects in the built environment sector.

Successful completion of this diploma opens doors to degrees in areas such as construction and built environment, project management, quantity and building surveying, commercial management in construction, built environment design, building safety, and more.

Preeti Mahajan, Head of Online Projects at Activate Learning, said: “We are thrilled to offer this new online Access to HE Diploma in Built Environments. Not only does it complement and strengthen our broad Access to Higher Education offering at Activate Learning but also provides flexibility for our learners and ensures they have a clear progression route to higher education with UCEM.

“This agreement underscores our commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals.”

Key benefits of the course include:

  • Flexible online learning – delivered entirely online, the course allows students to balance their studies with other commitments.
  • Comprehensive curriculum – The programme covers essential topics and skills required for higher education and professional success in the built environment.
  • Guaranteed university placement – Achieving the required credits at Merit or Distinction level ensures a place on a UCEM undergraduate programme, providing a clear pathway to higher education.

Stephen Bartle, Pro Vice Chancellor (Business Development and Apprenticeships) at UCEM, said: “UCEM is pleased to collaborate with Activate Learning to offer guaranteed places on our undergraduate programmes.

“This initiative aligns with our mission to make higher education accessible and provide students with the skills needed to excel in the built environment sector.”
