If you want to pursue a degree in the built environment but don’t meet the entry requirements, the BSc Access Module is the programme for you. Over the course of six months, you can get a taster of studying part-time and fully online, whilst gaining the skills required to study on one of UCEM’s undergraduate degrees.
As a part-time and online programme, you can have the flexibility to fit studying around your career and life from anywhere in the world.
About this degree
Programme details
On this programme, you will study one module that will introduce you to the built environment. This module is the perfect pathway to kick-start your education in the sector, as you will be provided with additional support tailored to students with non-standard entry requirements. With UCEM your studies will take place online, through the supportive Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Over the course of six months, you will complete the 20-credit module, studying for around seven to ten hours per week.
Upon completion of the BSc Access Module, you will have the option to join a UCEM undergraduate programme of your choice and transfer your academic credits onto your new programme. If you do not wish to continue your studies, you will instead receive a Certificate of Personal and Professional Development (CPPD).

Introduction to the Built Environment 1
Appreciate how legal, political and social issues shape our sector and its role in the economy. Understand the project lifecycle and the RIBA Plan of Work. Identify the industry’s stakeholders and professions and your chosen profession’s key responsibilities in meeting client objectives.
