UCEM alumna wins EGI’s Dealmaker of the Year for Yorkshire and the North West

A UCEM alumna has been recognised for making the highest number of transactions in Yorkshire
and the North West in 2018.
Michelle Dobson, who studied on UCEM’s BSc (Hons) Real Estate Management programme
and graduated on Saturday, was crowned EGI’s Dealmaker of the Year in 2018 for Yorkshire
and the North West last week. The award is given to the surveyor with the greatest number
of transactions completed in the region, within the year.
Michelle, a Commercial Property Surveyor with Walker Singleton in Halifax, commented: “I
feel very proud to win, especially given we are an independent, partner-led, firm with a
regional focus as opposed to national, city based, agents. It’s been a great achievement and
I’m honoured to represent Walker Singleton who have supported me throughout my career
and education with UCEM.
“Studying with UCEM has helped me develop my knowledge and skills within the property
industry over the last four years. That, alongside the continued support from my peers, has
ensured I have had the opportunity to develop in my career in property to its maximum
potential.”
She added: “Our Agency team have been very proactive during ongoing uncertain times.
This said, by focusing closely on the goals and aspirations of our clients, keeping them
updated on the market, and offering the same high levels of service to prospective buyers or
tenants, we strive hard to ensure transactions once agreed, complete.”
Each week, EGI looks at a different region of the UK and, using Radius – an online,
comprehensive database of commercial property information, analyses which company and
individual has secured the most deals over the previous 12 months. The winning company is
crowned the Most Active Agent and the individual claims the Dealmaker accolade.
