UCEM’s first major external centenary event will be livestreamed next Thursday (16 May).
The Built Environment of the Future event in East London will be streamed live onto UCEM’s YouTube channel, enabling anyone not there to watch the presentations and soak up the atmosphere via an internet connection.
So, what can viewers look forward to tuning in for? The first half of the event at the world’s most sustainable events venue, The Crystal is aimed at secondary school students and those unfamiliar with the Built Environment. Student representatives from every secondary school in the London Borough of Newham will be in attendance to hear from a range of guest speakers from the likes of The Prince’s Foundation, Friends of the Earth and CBRE. The talks during this part of the event are:
11am-12.15pm – What is surveying and what opportunities can it bring in future?
1.45pm-2.45pm – What does sustainability mean to the future of the Built Environment?
The second half of the event begins at 4.30pm and will see our panel of industry insiders, innovators and senior executives discuss: ‘Where next for the Built Environment?’ This half of the event will appeal to those with a good knowledge of the sector and will surely generate some fascinating discussions around future trends and challenges facing the Built Environment. The discussion is scheduled to end at 6pm.
UCEM Deputy Principal, Jane Fawkes commented: “We are incredibly excited to welcome such huge numbers of students in the morning and our friends, supporters and representatives from the Built Environment in the afternoon.
“In addition to our guests, we have some fantastic speakers presenting throughout the day and we look forward to capturing the energy and excitement of the event on our YouTube channel for those unable to attend. I am sure the talks and discussions will be of great interest to anyone with an interest in the Built Environment so make a note in your calendar now!”
